3 rules for good graphic design

This is a short video on how to employ good graphic design and what you need to know in order to do that.

Rules:

  1. Have a Concept: While you can create something that is visually stunning, it needs a narrative, a story to engage the user. Without this your design is flat and meaningless.
  2. Use White Space: Space calls attention to content and directs your reader while keeping them engaged. Too little space can confuse your reader/user causing them move away form your work.
  3. Consistent Typeface: Having one consistent typeface in your work create harmony. Using varying typefaces creates contention between your articles and can distract your user.

A pretty helpful video, i’ll be using these rules in order to steer clear of creating distractions for my users so that they can remain focused on the content I would like them to engage with.
