helvetica movie poster

Its hard to find a match or even come close to surpassing the impact Helvetica has had on the design world. Everything we see as we walk through town, our buses, street signs, posters, etc has been touched by Helvetica. Why? Well because its neutral, well-glyphed and has been in use for a long time.

Its pretty much a business standard, its easy to read and has a sense of grandeur about it. Developed by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann in 1957 to compete with Akzidenz-Grotesk it has, of course, surpassed its rival.

Helvetica is a great documentary and stresses the need upon me to implement my the typefaces I choose well, so that my users can truly enjoy the content I put out and not be distracted while reading.
